Summary of Practice

KEVIN J. O’CONNOR is an experienced attorney whose practice concentrates in civil litigation and appeals.  He focuses on complex litigation areas, including commercial and business litigation, eminent domain law, government law and civil rights, insurance coverage litigation, land use law, legal ethics and professional responsibility, and life, health and disability law.  He has successfully litigated numerous cases in state and federal courts in New Jersey and has argued and presented appeals before the New Jersey Appellate Division, Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Federal Circuit.

Mr. O’Connor has served as a Member of the New Jersey Supreme Court District Ethics Committee, District V-A, and also served on the Editorial Board for New Jersey Lawyer Magazine.  Currently, he is the legal advisor to the board of Foundabilities, Inc., a non-profit organization providing services to adults with disabilities.

Mr. O’Connor received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Richmond and his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a Member and Associate Editor for the Seton Hall Law Review.   Before joining the Lum Firm, he served as a Judicial Intern for the Hon. Maryanne T. Barry of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and also served as the Law Clerk for the Hon. Herman D. Michels, the Presiding Judge for Administration of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
